Five stars is not enough for this book. The first time I read the book, I read it fast because I wanted to know what happened. The second time I read it more slowly to savor the rich language, the imagery and the setting. The third time I read it I read it very slowly to absorb the profound wisdom. You can read this book on any level and love it. And for anyone concerned with growing up, politics, the environment, spiritual connections to other people and to nature; for anyone who loves to travel in their mind; for anyone who is thrilled with spine tingling adventure - this is your book. I read this book again every year and it is fresh every time. My teen age son asked for it for Christmas and was blown away to receive a first edition. He will cherish it and read it his whole life. This is on my "can't bear to lend it" shelf. This book is a BUY IT. If I could say anything more enthusiastic, I would.
