I am a licensed clinical social worker in Indiana, currently in the middle of coursework for my Ph.D. This book is required reading for my social policy course. It's contents, so heartbreakingly in its truth, are a testament to how "our system(s)" fail so mightily, so heavily. It also shows the strength and perseverance of the human spirit, particularly when such a spirit is bolstered by the love a parent has for their children. This book is a prayer, in many senses; though I am agnostic and without religious faith, the term "prayer" to me is best fitting. Thank you, Wanda "Rose", for your account. I will keep it always in my heart, and will use it as fuel in my own classroom as I educate the next generation of social workers.
