Product Description

Product Description Making you stand up and take notice, 'Based on a True Story' combines many styles of American popular music from Motown soul and Pop with Southern Rock and Rap. The result... The band calls it 'Gangsta Gospel', -other's call immature. Either way, no one accuses it of lacking attitude! REVIEWS: Just buy the CD... '...do precisely what I say!' I may never have heard of a 'WildOscar', 'J-Berg', 'Jehobah and Josemite' or 'Gangsta Gospel' had it not been for an errant search on Napster for NO DOUBT with only the initials 'ND' yielding this nugget! Due to the title, the first cut I clicked was 'In Da Hood Feeling Goood' where I heard the voice of a surfer reflecting on 'pimpin the hoes and dealin cocaine.' I was hooked. I can't find a bad cut on the album. I've shared this gem with a few close friends and emailed 'All I Ask' to a few former girlfriends. My tastes are seldom held in high regard by a mass audience, so I am not surprised it isn't even available on Amazon.com. Groovy... About the Artist A Short Background - Straight outta J-Berg (Jakobsberg) . entering their teenage years, WildOscar and his gang had already established the infamous and profitable crime syndicate known as WildOscar N D Kraazy F'S. ZEE, -growing up togatha in the projects, the only respectable career available for these young men livin' in J-Berg was to become a pimp or/and a drug dealer. This was the path that the boys were traveling on when Rev. Jehobah and Josemite Brown of the "HELP the HOMIES Foundation" persuaded them to become the back-up band of their Gospel choir JC in J-Berg. ".they basically took us off the streets a few hours every week, a well needed break for a hardworking gangsta and a chance to meet hoes in a more relaxed environment", says WildOscar. The homies honed their musical talents while jamming with the choir and started experimenting with what they came to call Gangsta Gospel after choir rehearsals. They incorporated the HEAVIER attitude of Rap and Hip-Hop with the Soul/Gospel groove, that Jebba had taught them. "MAN! -that Negro really meant a lot to us! He even made our GANG name our BAND name", says Kalle. "... 'KAUSE ZEE, all along I knew that the "F" in WildOscar N D Kraazy F'S really stood for "FUNKAZ' and not "FUCKAZ'! I just had to teach them BAD-AZZ-NIGGA-HOMIES! And now, instead of with Drive-By Shootings, they can also ventilate their suppressed Hood Aggressions through their new style of music", says Reverend Brown.
