"Choices: A Story of Survival" is a great pick if you are in a book club or are just looking for a good read coming-of-age story. Despite growing up in extreme poverty and surviving sexual abuse, Kay overcame countless obstacles and went on to achieve a doctorate from U.C. Berkeley. I met Kay Runyan in a critique group years ago and found her writing to be enjoyable, folksy, and inspiring. We can all overcome whatever life throws at us!
